Sunrise on Condado

One of the few things that's great about pullman, wa or any city really on the mainland is the public transportation. You almost never wait more than 15 minutes at the bus stop before "your" bus shows up.

This was the main problem with our mindset as we decided to take the bus to old San Juan so that we could end up on the Bacardi factory tour yesterday.

We walked out of our patio, closed the gate and ventured one block to the bus stop across from the beach. We missed the first busy because we didn't run fast enough, then missed the second because we were on the wrong side of the road. When the third bus came, the driver told us that we needed to cross the street because the old San Juan bus would come around to that side.

Now as were waiting, me with a gasolina in hand, we took a few pictures of the beautiful palm trees ,the white sands and the families laughing and carrying on. About an hour and a half into our wait, yes , you read that right. An hour and a half. The bus rolls around, opens the doors, and we realize it's the same bus driver that had told us to cross the road... It was the same dang bus.

We climbed aboard, and began to look online for the appropriate stop to get of at. Eventually we saw a stop that looked similar to the one we were at the previous night and I convinced everyone that it was the correct stop. I soon realized that I was wrong.

We had a 2.5 mile walk left to go.

On the way we decided to eat at. A sizzlers that was along the way then continued walking.

We saw some pretty great art work on the walls of the surrounding buildings. Which made us question if we had walked into the one part of town that otto, had specifically told us has a high crime rate and that we should avoid.

It's safe to say, we made it out alright.

We eventually made it to the sea side Sheraton from the previous night and met an adorable little mom with her kids. One of her young boys had flown his kite and it accidentally flew into a docked boat which was out of his reach. So being the motherly figure and super hero Sagal volunteered Linda, Ian and I to retrieve it. So there we are pulling the boat closer and closer and we couldn't seem to get it close enough to the dock for one of us to jump in.

Eventually Linda and I put our backs into it and pulled as hard as we could and Ian cleared the jump, grabbed the kite and jumped back to the dock.

The mom was beyond grateful and the kid thought Ian was the coolest individual in the world. Mission accomplished.

We made it to NoNo's from the night before where when I went to pay for my drinks I realized I hadn't cAlled the bank to tell them is be in Puerto Rico for a few days. I immediately have them a call and my card began to work a few hours later. Thanks Ashley!

Later on that night we met the most amazing group of med students from Washington, D.C. We ended up playing a few rounds of pool at the bar right above NoNo's, teaching the bartender to twerk, and then heading off to their apartment across old San Juan.

The most vivid part of the night would have to be the quick game of Ice pong that we played after not being able to find the real pong balls.

Anywho we left around 5:30 am Ian and I walked down to the beach to watch the sunrise. It seemed as if the water was on fire, the energy coursing through every inch of the sand and the waves dancing to an inaudible tune.

Sunrise on the Caribbean ocean was glorious. I'm considering a project where each place I go I'll watch a sunrise take a picture and if there's water take a swim. Which is exactly what I did here. Ian and I took turns running into the water.

All in all I must say the hangover following was epic to say the least. I'm not sure how wsu kids show up to class and work with them. It was worth it though!

Here are a few shots there's quite abit actually.
